I love the clean, graphic look of this stamp set!  It makes easy, yet striking cards.

Watercolor Winter - Sneak Peek at Holiday Catty!

Pin It Now! The sketch this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments gave me the opportunity to play with some new goodies, available August 29th, from the Holiday 2014 catalog.  I worked with an amazing new kit, Watercolor Winter!  This kit, for $24.95, includes supplies to make 20 cards with envelopes, and features fun embellishments like this red sleigh, vellum snowflake die cuts, sequins, linen thread, gold glimmer paper accents, and thick watercolor letters!

Here's my first card created with the kit.  I added a little embossing, sequin snowflakes, and Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper (these are not incl. in the kit).
I used the sleigh as the focal point, using the sketch as a guide...
Hand Stamped Senitments Sketch Challenge #193.

After that, I got busy and made all these cards from the kit, using mainly the instructions included, changing a couple up just a little.
I think this one is my favorite!  SU suggests hand watercoloring a striped background, but my attempt was less than stellar!  So I opted to use my Hardwood background stamp.
This "Merry" sample is done exactly as instructed.
This "Happy Holidays" sample is also exactly as instructed.  I did add some sponging to the striped Cherry Cobbler base.
This one is also as instructed.  LOVE the watercolor paper sleighs!  I have several more in the kit to play with, and I plan to have some serious fun with them!
There are so many supplies in this kit, and when you add the trio of Christmas stamps, they can be used for an endless variety of Christmas and winter themed cards.

Thanks for stopping by!  Head on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to see what the other gals did with this sketch!

Envelope Punch Board Favor / Treat Boxes

Pin It Now! Just a little share today - these are gift boxes I made for my recent open house, they are cute, little, but sturdy!
They easily fit several Dove chocolates inside, and decoration options are limitless!  I used retired DSP and Sycamore Street ribbon.  But now I'm thinking back-to-homeschool, Halloween, and more!
I followed instructions on this video, which made it easy to figure out and crank out 16 of them from 4 sheets of DSP!
Hope you're inspired to make some gifty things!  Have a blessed and creative day!  ~ Erika

Masculine Birthday with Chalk Talk

Pin It Now! Here's a manly card using Chalk Talk, featuring Typeset Specialty DSP, and some luscious gold ribbon from the SU catty.  I seriously need to make pajamas out of this stuff - gorgeous satin!

...anyway!  This is for my dad's b'day, and features the colors from his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens.  Or, as some folks call them, Basic Black and Blackberry Bliss.
A pretty simple layout, and Chalk Talk is so easy to use if you stamp it the way it was created - as a chalkboard accent!

Here, you can see my embossing (large polka dot TIEF), the pretty ribbon, some spattered gold paint.  And my gold "frizzles" created by peeling the gold baker's twine apart.  I think it looks like sparklers - very celebratory!
Inside, from retired You're Amazing.
I'm playing with the sketch from Techno Stamper

Envelope Punch Board Gift Card Holders - Snowflake Soiree, Christmas Messages

Pin It Now! I got a little ambitious with the color combo we're working with this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments!  I have quite a stash of cards already, and today I'm working on gift card holders and tags.

These are made with the Envelope Punch Board.  Baked Brown Sugar cardstock base with Snowflake Soiree flakes heat embossed all over with white.
Everything used here are carryover items from last year's Christmas mini, so it's all still available for purchase!  I started with the girly-ish GC holder with the doily and Cherry Cobbler rosette.  It had been a while since I made ribbon flowers!
They're easy when you use SU's Jumbo Sticky Rounds, and the instructions are on the back of the package!
Next up was a more boyish version, and I decided I'd go more simple, less fussy on the rest.
To make these, use the 3" x 5" measurement on the Envelope punch board, which starts with a piece of cardstock 6-7/8" square.
The inserts are then 3 x 5, easy, right?  I used Champagne glimmer paper and some die cuts to make "tabs" to lift the GCs out of the envelopes, and decorated both sides.
These left me with some leftover cardstock, so I made some gift tags out of it instead of filing them away.
The back:
These will definitely be incorporated into my September Christmas class!

Be sure to check out the other DT ladies' projects at Handstamped Sentiments!  Click the pic to join in the fun!
Have a blessed and creative day!

Starburst / Sunburst Cards - Birthday & Thank You

Pin It Now! What's a prettier way to show off patterned paper than in this lovely starburst pattern?

This birthday card is done using the All Abloom DSP stack.  It's perfectly sized to make the triangles for the starburst; mine are 4-1/2" x 1-1/4".  The cute sentiment is from Something to Say.

I just love these colors!

And how about a couple of shiny sequins?

Here's my first sample - I used retired Afternoon Tea DSP to experiment with.  Love these, too!  I sent this one to my mom!
Have a great day!

From My Heart Anniversary Card

Pin It Now! Gold, newsprint, and buttons are the combination of this card for a friend's 17th anniversary.  She's an English professor, and he's an American History author, thus the vintage newsprint!  One button for her, one for him, and a gold heart, all tied together with a gold strand.
A little closer...  That gold ribbon is the BEST.  I heard that at the Stampin' Up! convention, they said that gold is the new black.  That works for me!
These challenges are used for my card.  Click the pic to visit them!
